There’s no age limit on being bullied, or, being a bully. But young people continue to be the ones who bear the brunt of bullying. It’s a crisis that, despite widespread global attention, happens every single day across the world.
Daniel Briggs, unable to endure relentless bullying, took a gun and shot himself at the age of 16. Despite feeling deep pain over the unrelenting physical and verbal attacks he suffered, Daniel put on a brave face for his family — until he could no longer bear his humiliation.
Too many people see bullying as “kids just being kids,” but that is simply not true. Daniel Briggs made the painful decision to end his life, because for him, it was the only way to escape his pain.
Please watch the video below to hear from Daniel’s mother. If you have children, then this is a must watch — but be warned, it’s very emotional.
Teach your children that bullying is wrong, it hurts and it cost this wonderful boy his life. The grief his Mother and family feel is unimaginable.
We should never assume a school will intercede and end bullying, because Daniel’s parents made every attempt to get help from his school, but apparently, received none. Please, say a prayer for Daniel and his family and let us all teach our children love, compassion and kindness.
Share this video so that others can spread the word and help end these tragedies.
