I find that too often, I come across an inspiring positive affirmation, quote or saying that really uplifts me, but within a few days, I’ve sort of forgotten about it. It’s not that I forget the words as much as I let the life lesson get pushed aside. I know that happens to a lot of people.
I’m sure that at some point, you’ve done the same thing. You read or hear something that you immediately connect with and you have that glorious epiphany of enlightenment, only to let it kind of drop off a few days later. That would be fine if it wasn’t an important motivator or source of inspiration, but when it is, its a shame that we let it drift away.
For me, this increasingly happens these days — things have been really stressful as we all know, so we shouldn’t beat ourselves up over it. But, that being said, very often those words/quotes/passages are perfect for us and it behooves us to remember them. One way to do that is to write them down in a journal so we can read and absorb them. If journaling isn’t your thing, you could also create a file on your laptop and save them there for future reference. But, I’ve found that printing them out and posting them near my desk really helps — this way as I work, I can look up and read those uplifting words until they become ingrained in my conscience.
