We are what we think we are. Its funny and just a bit scary, to think that we shape our own realities. I say scary because it’s very easy to forget that we think our way into our current state of being. Think happy…be happy. Think angry…be angry. Scary, right?
Some of the wisest positive thinkers have shared their words of wisdom with the world and reading them, you immediately think “gee, why didn’t I realize that sooner?” Their powerful words have inspired millions of people and I’d like to share some of the most impactful ones with our readers:
The Reverend Dr. Norman Vincent Peale:
“Action is a great restorer and builder of confidence. Inaction is not only the result, but the cause, of fear. Perhaps the action you take will be successful; perhaps different action or adjustments will have to follow. But any action is better than no action at all.”
“Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy.”
“Our happiness depends on the habit of mind we cultivate. So practice happy thinking every day. Cultivate the merry heart, develop the happiness habit, and life will become a continual feast.”“Any fact facing us is not as important as our attitude toward it, for that determines our success or failure. The way you think about a fact may defeat you before you ever do anything about it. You are overcome by the fact because you think you are.”
“The way to happiness: Keep your heart free from hate, your mind from worry. Live simply, expect little, give much. Scatter sunshine, forget self, think of others. Try this for a week and you will be surprised.”
“I place this day, my life, my loved ones, my work in the Lord’s hands. There is no harm in the Lord’s hands, only good. Whatever happens, whatever results, if I am in the Lord’s hands it is the Lord’s will and it is good.”
“Be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. Talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet. Make all your friends feel there is something special in them. Look at the sunny side of everything. Think only the best, be as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
“Change your thoughts and you change your world.”
Zig Ziglar:
“Fear has two meaning; ‘Forget Everything And Run’ or ‘Face Everything And Rise.’ The choice is yours.”
“True joy comes when you inspire, encourage, and guide someone else on a path that benefits him or her.”
“How you see the future is much more important than what happened in your past.”
“Don’t let someone who gave up on their dreams talk you out of going after yours.”
“When you encourage others, you in the process are encouraged because you’re making a commitment and difference in that person’s life. Encouragement really does make a difference.”
“If you want to reach a goal, you must ‘see the reaching’ in your own mind before you actually arrive at your goal.”
Dale Carnegie:
“It isn’t what you have or who you are or where you are or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about it.”
“Any fool can criticize, complain, and condemn—and most fools do. But it takes character and self-control to be understanding and forgiving.”
“When we hate our enemies, we are giving them power over us: power over our sleep, our appetites, our blood pressure, our health, and our happiness.”
“You can conquer almost any fear if you will only make up your mind to do so. For remember, fear doesn’t exist anywhere except in the mind.”
“Be more concerned with your character than with your reputation, for your character is what you are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.”
“Our thoughts make us what we are.”
“Attitude is a choice. Happiness is a choice. Optimism is a choice. Kindness is a choice. Giving is a choice. Respect is a choice. Whatever choice you make makes you. Choose wisely.”
“Don’t be pushed around by the fears in your mind. Be led by the dreams in your heart.”
“A random act of kindness, no matter how small, can make a tremendous impact on someone else’s life.”
“More smiling, less worrying. More compassion, less judgment. More blessed, less stressed. More love, less hate.”
These words really mean something. Remember them, particularly when you need some inspiration. We can create our own reality and if we think good and positive thoughts, that will indeed become our truth.
