Resolve to Make 2021 a Happy and Peaceful Year!

December 28, 2020 by Patrick S.

https://www.facebook.com/Positivity-Post-850385048367345Call me Captain Obvious, but 2020 was not a great year. Far from it in fact. The events of this year have taken a heavy toll on people and it’s safe to say that everyone is hoping and praying for a better year ahead.

As the new year approaches, many people quietly pray that 2021 will be a good year and that we can return not just to “normal,” but to a new, better normal. Between political unrest and the pandemic, nerves are frayed and spirits are dampened and I know I’m not alone when I say I often feel beaten down. But, the dawning new year gives us all a chance to make things better and that opportunity for a better year starts with each and every one of us.

Lead with Love

The one thing we all can do to help make 2021 a better year, is to always lead with love. Love is a miraculous power and if we each resolve to always lead from a place of love, understanding and tolerance, we’re going to see a much brighter future. We may not always be able to control events, but we can control our resolve and response. Having political disagreements with people? Stop — simply stop letting politics rule your life. We’ve become obsessed with political ideology and its done nothing but cause strife and division, so the best way to put an end to it, is to just stop. We can all agree to disagree and letting love guide our life is the first big step. As for the virus, while we may not be able to fully conquer it…for now…we can at least listen to the experts and follow their guidance. When we lead from a place of love and tolerance, it not only frees our heart, it also frees our mind — where anger and hatred once dwelled, let love take it’s place.

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. – 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

If human beings can be trained for cruelty and greed and a belief in power which comes through hate and fear and force, certainly we can train equally well for greatness and mercy and the power of love which comes because of the strength of the good qualities to be found in the soul of every human being. – Eleanor Roosevelt

What Can Love Do?

Love can do a lot — in fact, love can do more than we have ever imagined. If we lead from a place of fear and anger, that defines who we are to everyone we know and meet — we can think we’re good, loving people, but that’s not how others will see us. Fear and anger are toxic and they eventually destroy our peace and harmony. If however, we lead from a place of love, tolerance, understanding and patience, that will become our normal…it is how people will see us, because it is who we will have become, as the forces of good sweep away the forces of darkness. So the answer is, love can and will do miraculous things for each of us and thus, for the world.

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.- 1 John 4:7

The more love you give in your day-to-day life, the greater the magnetic power of love you have in the field around you, and everything you want will fall at your feet. – Rhonda Byrne

Resolve to…

Rather than making new year resolutions to lose 10 pounds or to give up chewing gum, this year, resolve to being part of the solution by being part of the healing. Love more in 2021. Be calmer in 2021. Be more forgiving and understanding in the new year. In 2021, resolve to let your whole life be filled with a two-way flow of love — loving others, loving nature, loving animals and just as important, being open to receiving love, because we all deserve to be loved.

Love won’t cure the pandemic, but it will bring us all together so that we can beat it as a unified power. Love won’t end petty politics…at first, but it will eventually neutralize it and send a strong message to our political leaders that we won’t be used in their battles. Love won’t make everything perfect…at first, but it will, without doubt, very quickly, start a true and lasting healing and that will most assuredly, make things miraculously better. Love, understanding and compassion are incredibly powerful forces — they free us from hatred and anger and the resulting cleansing is the most beautiful and liberating feeling in the world.

I wish you a very blessed and happy new year and I hope that you’ll always lead from a place of love and understanding.

None of us, including me, ever do great things. But we can all do small things, with great love, and together we can do something wonderful. – Mother Teresa
