Animals are very sensitive creatures and they experience emotions just like we humans. They feel happiness, fear and sadness and like us, they require love to survive. Fortunately, more people are starting to recognize that all animals deserve our care, protection and, love.
This is a touching story of two Elephants who formed a very special bond, only to then be separated for a very long time. Shirley and Jenny became the best of friends when both were captive in a circus. Sadly, after only being together for one winter, they were separated from each other.
Finally, after 22 years of being apart, Shirley and Jenny were joyfully reunited at The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee. Their bonding was immediate and unforgettably moving, proving that animals have memories and are kind, caring, sensitive and loving.
Sadly, Jenny passed away peacefully on October 17, 2006 surrounded by those she loved most – Shirley, Bunny, Tarra and her loving caregivers.
Please, love animals. Protect them, be kind go them and help keep them free — cages are no place for them and like us, they deserve peace, happiness and freedom.
