I love you. Three easy words to say. Three simple words that pack so much power and energy, they could literally save the entire world. Seriously. We say it to our friends and family, but what if we said it to complete strangers?
Love isn’t just powerful, it’s miraculous. And yet, it can’t truly be defined, because it’s so magnificent. We can say “I love you” and not mean it, and we can mean it and not say it — it’s mystifying, because it’s so simple, yet quite complicated at the same time. Saying those three beautiful words shouldn’t be difficult, but for some people it is and they struggle their whole lives to say them.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. – Martin Luther King, Jr.
So how can we get more people to say I love you? The folks at TheILoveYouChallenge.com, are trying to do just that:
The guy in the video says, “I want to let you know something…I love you. I just wanted to spread some positivity and love.” So incredibly moving! Of course, saying “I love you” to complete strangers may not be easy and perhaps in some cases, one should not. That’s totally fine, because even if we don’t say the the words, we should always let the feeling of love wash through us — radiating love outwards towards all life and letting it flow back into us.
Love is free to give and receive and if we all take the challenge to say or just feel love more, it will heal the world in the most miraculous way.
“Spread love everywhere you go: first of all in your own home. Give love to your children, to your wife or husband, to a next door neighbor. Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God’s kindness; kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile, kindness in your warm greeting.” ― Mother Teresa
