Wake up in a sour mood and it will haunt your entire day. But, if we can manage to wake up in a good mood, or at least actively move our frame of mind to the positive, odds improve dramatically that we’ll have a better day. The good news is, its easy to train your mind to do just that.
We’ve found some fabulous quotes that will help to encourage you on your path of positivity. Upon waking up each morning, quickly orient your train of thought to something positive and then carry that positive attitude with you all day:

“Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine.” – Anthony J. D’Angelo
“Do not be too timid and squeamish about your actions. All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better. What if they are a little course, and you may get your coat soiled or torn? What if you do fail, and get fairly rolled in the dirt once or twice. Up again, you shall never be so afraid of a tumble.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
“We who lived in concentration camps can remember the men who walked through the huts comforting others, giving away their last piece of bread. They may have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms — to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.” – Viktor Frankl
“I am an optimist. It does not seem too much use being anything else.” – Winston Churchill
“Happiness is an attitude. We either make ourselves miserable, or happy and strong. The amount of work is the same.” – Francesca Reigler
“Whatever you think the world is withholding from you, you are withholding from the world.” – Eckhart Tolle
“There is no moment like the present. The man who will not execute his resolutions when they are fresh upon him can have no hope from them afterwards: they will be dissipated, lost, and perish in the hurry and scurry of the world, or sunk in the slough of indolence.” – Maria Edgeworth
“We should be taught not to wait for inspiration to start a thing. Action always generates inspiration. Inspiration seldom generates action.” – Frank Tibolt
“This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown on the scrap heap; the being a force of nature instead of a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.” – George Bernard Shaw

“When people say to me: “How do you do so many things?” I often answer them, without meaning to be cruel: “How do you do so little?” It seems to me that people have vast potential. “Bad habits are easier to abandon today than tomorrow.” – Yiddish Proverb

“You have to decide what your highest priorities are and have the courage – pleasantly, smilingly, non-apologetically –- to say ‘no’ to other things. And the way to do that is by having a bigger ‘yes’ burning inside. The enemy of the ‘best’ is often the ‘good.’ – Stephen Covey

Positive affirmations are often over looked and dismissed as “simplistic.” However, we shouldn’t under-estimate the power of conditioning our mind — with positive affirmations, sometimes it’s simply the act of repeating them that gets our ‘head into the game.’ Once we’re used to re-enforcing the positive, we can really say anything that works for us. You can start off with one or all of these and hopefully, once you’re into the groove of saying them, you can refine the affirmation to what ever works for you:
- Today, I affirm that I will be the person that I say I want to be. It is within my control.
- My thoughts do not control me, I control my thoughts and my thoughts will be positive ones.
- No one can control how I feel about myself, but me. I am a good person and I matter in this world.
- I will not let any negative thoughts take root in my mind.
- I am thankful for what I have, even if it is not perfect. My life is good.
- My mind and my heart will remain open today.
