I’ve had days when I haven’t felt quite good enough — not smart enough, not qualified or capable enough — basically, that I just wasn’t enough of the really good things. On those days, reality and perception can be very blurry.
I know that I’m not alone in sometimes feeling not good enough, because every single person on this earth has felt that way at one time or another. Feeling less than adequate or feeling vulnerable is part of the human condition and when those feelings arise, we have to remember that its just our perception — in reality, we absolutely are good enough.
“Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy.” – Norman Vincent Peale
A friend shared a social media post with me and it really had a very positive impact. Our world tends to beat us down, as we’re expected to live up to unrealistic ideals and expectations set for us by society and pop culture. People, and no one is certain who they are, at some point, established these ideals of how we’re supposed to look, act, speak, eat, smile…and its all rubbish. Here is that wonderful piece my friend shared with me:
“You are brave. You are enough. Your words are meaningful. You have great ideas. You are the best at being you. Don’t be afraid to be yourself. You are beautiful inside and out. It is okay to cry. You can say yes. You can say no. You are loved. Self care is important. You don’t have to be perfect to be great. We all make mistakes. You are not anyone’s expectations. You are interesting. You are worth it. You are important. Thank you for being you!”

Positive Thinking is the active practice of focusing on the good and with time, we begin to cultivate a more balanced, and solutions-focused mindset — this builds self-esteem, which leads to positive action. As we nurture a more positive outlook, we see the world…and ourselves, differently. We grow and develop as individuals and realize that we are in fact, worthy — we realize that in truth, we are enough.
Positivity and having an optimistic attitude and outlook has been proven to improve our mood, mental and physical health, relationships, problem solving and motivation, to name a few benefits. A healthy self-esteem is therefore, tied closely to positive thinking. Getting to the point in which we know and accept that we all matter, really starts with having a positive outlook on life.
We All Matter
No one is better than you or me. We are all entitled to happiness and fulfillment and we are all valuable — every single one of us matters greatly and none of us — absolutely none, are perfect, so we need to cut ourselves some slack. Today, take time to focus on the positive and on you — celebrate “you” and appreciate who you are in this world, because who you are, is something very special!
