What if we’re being too harsh with the wrong people? What if, a lot of us, particularly in this country, are getting it all wrong? What if we’re on the wrong side of the line in the sand? Scary thought, but one that is not too far off.
Holy Week is a time of great sorrow, but also of tremendous joy. As Easter approaches, Christians should give deep and meaningful thought to the incredible sacrifice that Jesus made for us all.
Like many Christians, you might be alarmed by the rise in arrogance, militancy and blasphemy many of our brethren seem to have embraced. If you are distressed by this trend, that may be a very good thing.
Are you a Goat or a Sheep? I guess before one can decide, we would need to know the characteristics of each, specifically as it relates to a very important Bible passage. But, as choices go, this is a really important one.
Hypocrisy can be a galling trait — when someone exhibits hypocrisy, its bad enough, but when its pathological, it is exasperating. Hypocrisy abounds these days and Christians know this all to well.
One of the greatest sources for inspiration and hope, is of course the Bible. I say “one of,” but its really the greatest source for teachings and lessons that uplift and fortify us. The Beatitudes is one of my favorites.
Becoming a more positive and happy person does take effort, but anyone who has made this transformative journey, knows the rewards far outweigh the work. And finding sources of positivity is a crucial aspect.
“The meek shall inherit the earth.” This fact from Jesus’s Sermon on the Mount is often ignored — typically by bullies and despots. Its most unfortunate that people don’t realize just how important this statement is.
Some Christians have elevated themselves and believe that God needs our help and that somehow, our Almighty Creator is reliant upon us. This of course is not true and its the other way around. The expression “good intentions” comes to mind on this matter.
