Some Christians have elevated themselves and believe that God needs our help and that somehow, our Almighty Creator is reliant upon us. This of course is not true and its the other way around. The expression “good intentions” comes to mind on this matter.
Is cruelty now the new norm? Has America, which was once called “a shining beacon on a hill,” lost that honor? What has happened to our sense of fairness and compassion? These questions should concern all of us.
Helping others and uplifting each other, even complete strangers, is one of the most beautiful callings in the Christendom. We are taught to always do the right thing, even when its not always easy.
In order to become a better person, we first have to acknowledge our faults and short-comings. The same is true when we want to go from being negative, to being positive.
Helping others is one of the most beautiful ways to celebrate the Christian faith. It is a privilege and blessing to be able to do good for people and that includes complete strangers.
A worrying trend continues to build, as politics increasingly hijacks the Christian faith. And we must make no mistake — the faith is under direct attack from nefarious people who are far from being true Christians.
Have you heard the expression “a mouth full of scripture, but a heart full of hate?” Its been making the rounds lately and more and more people are giving serious thought as to what that means.
Mercy. What exactly does it mean to be merciful? Is mercy something we give freely? Are we quick to judge and condemn and slow to forgive and embrace? Do we put mercy first…or last?
We’ve all heard the phrase “love is the answer” or that “love conquers all.” Does it? I think its a safe bet to say yes, it really is all about love. And what greater love is there than the love of God?
