We Have To Do More Than Just Wish For It

https://www.facebook.com/Positivity-Post-850385048367345Wouldn’t life be absolutely wonderful if all we had to do to get what we wanted, was to wish for it? To simply desire something and want it so bad, that out of the blue, that wish became reality. Even Bewitched and Genie would be jealous. But life doesn’t really work that way.

A friend of mine sent me a meme…or at least I think it’s a meme…and when I read it, I immediately thought “wait, that’s kind of pollyannish.” The premise of it, which I’ve posted below, is that if you really want something, all you have to do is want it bad enough and then “poof,” like magic, it will all fall into place. Take a look…

I have no idea who wrote this and I’m not at all criticizing it, because it is actually accurate — the first step is to make that unwavering, well-thought out decision that you want a good life. And the key thing to remember is that making that decision, equates to action.

Being a positive thinker doesn’t mean just wishing for something and then sitting back, expecting it all to fall into place. I don’t believe that the universe works that way. If it did, imagine the chaos and negativity that could come of it? The guy who believe a “good life” is to be an absolute Dictator and because he wants it bad enough, it becomes reality…that’s probably not an ideal scenario.

Wanting it Bad Enough to Take Action

The truth is, wanting something and getting it are two different things. I believe that the above wisdom needs to be followed with a plan of action, such as, for example:

  • What constitutes and defines a good life?
  • What about my life now do I want to change and why?
  • How do I make those changes?
  • What do I envision my life to be like once I make those changes?

Of course, its different for each person based on their present circumstances, but the vitally important thing after deciding we want a good life, is a plan on how to make that happen. I believe that then, yes, the universe will start helping and the people we need and doors that need to be open, will start to happen — I believe this because the first imperative step is to declare “I want a good life!” and to mean it. Once we do that, our whole mindset changes and we begin to orient to the positive, good things in life. I believe that the affirmation of wanting a good and better life, is very powerful and we should harness that power to then take action. We create/find our own happiness and its up to each individual to use their power of positivity to bring that “good life” to reality.
