Helping others is one of the most beautiful ways to celebrate the Christian faith. It is a privilege and blessing to be able to do good for people and that includes complete strangers.
Christianity is a joyous faith — it is centered on hope and promise and is meant to uplift and inspire in every facet of life. One of the teachings in our faith is that of being kind and compassionate by offering aid and comfort to those in need. When we help others, we’re letting them know that they are not alone — that we care about them and we want to help sustain them.
In Galatians 6:2, we are encouraged to “carry each other’s burdens,” whether they be emotional, spiritual or physical.
“Carry each other’s burdens and, in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.” – Galatians 6:2
Selfless acts of kindness and support are absolutely beautiful and it is a calling that Christians should embrace wholeheartedly. When we know someone who is struggling, it is our responsibility to offer that person support and encouragement so that they can bear that burden. Its a wonderful thing to help each other and today, I pray that each and every one of us commits to willingly and passionately helping our fellow man whenever we can.
Helping others doesn’t always have to be in “epic” ways either. Sometimes, we help someone carry their burdens by encouraging them and helping to uplift their strength. Sometimes, it can simply be lending a hand to lighten their load and give them the spare time they so desperately need. Whatever helping looks like, the important things is to do whatever we can to help our fellow man.
