Love is so incredibly powerful and healing — and miraculously, its free to all and in infinite supply. We write about love a great deal on this blog and for good reason — love is the foundation for almost all wonderful things.
Positivity is so much more than just thinking good thoughts or looking for the bright side. An important aspect of positivity isn’t just being positive — it’s also realizing how valuable and important each of us truly are.
Why are messages and stories of hope and optimism so absent in our culture? We certainly hear enough of the negative, so why aren’t we reading and hearing more about the positive? A good question and one that I know many of us ask regularly, but alas, its one that has a very complicated answer.
It’s easy for us to forget about the things in life that really matter. Caught up in the daily grind, spending hours surfing social media, watching the polarizing news — all of a sudden, we forget about the things in our life that have the most value and remembering them gets harder.
We’ve posted a number of articles recently about the rise in dishonesty — half-truths, conspiracy theories and intentionally spread disinformation. We’ve covered this, because we can’t ever claim to be good or positive people if we purposely spread lies. Dishonesty, is a decidedly negative, dark trait.
I have a friend who has a quotes calendar on his desk and whenever I see it, I chuckle…“who uses those anymore?” Well, as it turns out, he does and now, so do I. My friend’s quote calendar is actually his daily motivator — he’s not using it for the date, but for the inspiration.
In order to be more positive and thus, less negative, it’s necessary for us to let go of any toxic emotions, behaviors and habits that are holding us back. We all know that anger, jealousy and hatred are three of the big ones, but one we sometimes overlook, is gossip — and gossip is very toxic.
The issue of the acrimonious political divide in our country is obvious to everyone. People are increasingly concerned about the battle of right vs. left and talking about the effects the political dysfunction is having on our mental health. Ironically, healing our country is relatively simple, but are people willing to try?
Everyone is striving for a happy and content life, but the pull of hectic daily life can sometimes make that goal feel elusive. Living more in the moment and getting the most out of life is something we need to make a daily habit and to help us, we should commit to doing at least one positive thing each day.
